Frequently Asked Questions
A dosing pump is a pump that can deliver specified amounts of liquid with the highest precision. This is essential for processes that require an exact ratio of chemicals or additives. For example, dosing chlorine or polymer in a water treatment plant, or adding additives in chemical processes. In short, whenever you need to add an exact amount of product to your process, a dosing pump is the right solution. For additional information, you can consult our Blog dosing pumps.
The output of a dosing pump can be set in two ways: Stroke length (manually or automated with automatic stroke adjustment) and/or stroke frequency (via frequency control or control signal). Which method, or combination of methods, you use depends on the pump model and the desired output. For more information and the manual for your specific pump, contact us.
Before performing maintenance on your metering pump, it is important to ensure that it can be done safely. Therefore, ensure that the pump cannot start unexpectedly, for example, by disconnecting it electrically and securing it. In addition, we advise flushing the pump with a suitable medium to prevent accidental contact with chemicals. Always use the correct PPE as well. Preventive maintenance is performed annually. This includes the following activities: Replacing the diaphragm and/or plunger packing, Maintaining/replacing valves and packings, Changing the oil. More extensive maintenance is performed every two years (biennially). This includes the following activities: Disassembly of the metering pump, Visual inspection of all components, Replacement of bearings and seals. If you have any questions, please contact us. We can also carry out the maintenance for you in our workshop.
